FRONT OF HOUSE
I desperately need 5 more volunteers to help with front of house.
PRE CONCERT REHEARSAL
Is on Friday 14th at Marling.
There are still plenty of tickets left to sell! Of the 300 £20 tickets there are still about 75 left(which will be available next Tuesday, as well as lots of the £15 ones. We distributed tickets to the box office(Roses Theatre of Tewkesbury) and to the Abbey shop but I will be requesting most of them back for you!! If we sell all of the 447 seats of the nave(front and rear) then we will open the side aisles on the night, at £10 a seat.
You will need your beautiful purple folder for the concert, might be worth digging it out now to make sure you can find it, especially you have recently moved house! Replacement folders will be charged at £7.50.
WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?
See Hugh’s (English/ proper spelling) explanation attached!
GERONTIUS ON THE RADIO
Don’t forget you can listen to a live performance of the work this Friday on Radio 3, courtesy of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Set you clocks for 7.30pm!
See page 29 of (last week’s?) Country Life for a super article about our commission!
You will need the white 100 Carols for Choirs and European Sacred Music, as well as the 6 PDF’s available to download and print off the member’s area of the website(password: stroud). I think we have a few copies of European available to sell(Please can whoever has these let me know).
If you are not intending to sing in the Christmas concert(and we are hoping for the usual drop off as we won’t all fit in Beeches Green!) you are welcome to come to the first rehearsal on Monday 17th November. Huw(Welsh/ proper spelling) will (hopefully, haven’t checked with him but he usually does!) give feedback from the concert.
